What was the RTFKT SZN1 Release?
The RTFKT SZN1 (Season 1) release marked a significant drop in RTFKT's history, debuting as their first official digital fashion collection. It was known for blending physical and digital wearables, catering to collectors in both the virtual and real worlds. Here's what made it stand out:

-
Physical + Digital Wearables: RTFKT emphasized the concept of "phygital" items, where collectors could obtain both a digital NFT version of their wearables and a physical counterpart, particularly in the form of sneakers and apparel.
-
RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1s: A highlight of SZN1 was the release of the RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1s, which became one of the most iconic pieces in the collection. The Airforce 1's were designed for both CloneX Characters and could be redeemed as physical Air Force 1s.
-
CloneX Integration: CloneX avatars, the 3D characters from RTFKT's successful NFT project in collaboration with Takashi Murakami, were able to wear these fashion items in the metaverse. The items were tailored to enhance the customization and individuality of CloneX characters, promoting a seamless blend of fashion and identity in the virtual space.
This drop was an essential milestone that reflected RTFKT's mission to pioneer the future of fashion and culture through digital innovation.
What Was My Role?
My Role on RTFKT SZN1:
I was responsible for organizing the creation of all clothing 3D assets, as well as overseeing the production of the preforged Air Force 1 NFTs. Our 3D department collaborated closely with the design team to model the shoes in 3D, ensuring they were accurate target visuals for the factories. Once the physical shoes were produced, we refined the 3D models to match the final products precisely.

One of the key technical challenges was developing loopable 3D simulations for the clothing, which I successfully resolved, allowing for seamless presentation and integration of the assets.

We also partnered with the advertising agency ABC (Already Been Chewed) to develop the final NFTs and the 3D billboard used in Tokyo.
Additionally, my team produced AR filters for all the Air Force 1s, allowing potential customers and NFT holders to virtually try on the shoes before receiving them.
